What to Expect When You Make an Appointment

Prior to your initial appointment we offer a no-cost 15-30 minute appointment to brainstorm whether or not this is a good fit for your family and the right time to do the work.  This is NOT a sales call, but an opportunity for you to ask questions and clarify what your work might look like.  Our only prerequisite for this call is that you watch the “Getting Started” video above, prior to our discussion.

In the local Western Washington area we meet families in their homes, which provides a sense of familiarity for the children, so many of whom are anxious, or dysregulated in unfamiliar settings.  We have also developed brilliant ways to assess your child or yourself on Zoom.  Before a Zoom appointment we will send specific instructions to make the best use of our time together online.

Your initial appointment will be three hours and in more complex cases may run longer.  Following your first appointment you will have a check-in opportunity two weeks or so after the initial assessment.  We make ourselves available to answer questions at any time between the initial assessment and the follow-up assessments, which are spaced anywhere from two – three months apart.

At your initial appointment, we will assess you or your child’s visual skills, tactile functions, auditory abilities, gross motor, language, and fine motor functions to establish the level of NeuroDevelopmental proficiency.  These results identify the developmental stage at which the initial injury or delay occurred and thus the point where the NDM program must begin.

We welcome all questions and want you to deeply understand our approach before you begin a daily program.  Informed parents become engaged parents, and the children gain skills more rapidly due to your solid commitment.  To that end, we ask you to read any articles you find relevant in our “Articles” section.
